About Us and the Qualifications of
Lenders Choice

Lenders Choice is dedicated to the TREC Standards of Practice and committed to the highest level of TREC Professionalism and Ethics. It is our mission and obligation to provide you with a qualified opinion as to the condition of your new or existing home.

Mr. Carlin chartered Lenders Choice in 1999 and achieved his formal inspection education (180-hours of classroom) followed by license examination in December of that year. Every year since he has exceeded the 16-hours of continued education required for renewal of a Professional Inspector license.

He has individually performed more than 4,000 inspections since that time including new construction phase inspections; one-year warranty inspections and pre-owned home inspections for buyers, relocation companies and sellers alike. Investors of residential and commercial properties have employed him as well. He only employs other inspectors who hold the same license designation (Professional Inspector) and personally reviews their field notes and property inspection reports before they are distributed. He holds his employees to the same standards of professionalism and ethics that he demonstrates.

With this extensive background inclusive of mortgage lending requirements, Mr. Carlin knows everything involved in the extensive process of buying a home. It is no surprise that emotional stress can reach a high level for many homebuyers, as demands for detailed information and financial commitment is great. Lenders Choice familiarity with contracts, surveys, title search, appraisals and seller/buyer negotiations are an expedient asset to the process and timeline of your transaction.

Certified by the Texas Consumer Department of Insurance (in 2003) located in Austin, TX to conduct inspections under the Texas' Voluntary Inspection Program (VIP).

Licensed continuously as a full time Professional Inspector with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) in Austin, TX.

Performed more than 4,000 Property Inspections since 1999 in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt and Tarrant Counties. Lenders Choice will travel.

Graduate of the American Inspectors Institute (in 1999), a Division of the Nanci Hawes Real Estate School located in Dallas, TX.

Monitored, disciplined and/or litigated against home improvement contractors for inferior workmanship over a 15-year secondary mortgage lending career.

Served in various positions on a local and national capacity with the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

Financed consumer and inventory loans of Manufactured Housing for 5-years requiring plant visits and familiarity with the assembly and set up for several manufacturers.
